Land, La Rambla & Ease In

Touch down, drop the bags, stroll La Rambla to Mercat de la Boqueria, wander into the Gothic Quarter, then sunset drinks with a view.

🗓️

Today's schedule

Mid-morning
🧳 Land & drop your bags
You can't check in until 3 PM. Ask host AB Apartment Barcelona if their office can hold bags, or book a spot at Plaça Catalunya with Bounce or Nannybag (~C$11 for both bags) — right where the Rambla walk starts.
Late morning
🚶 La Rambla → Mercat de la Boqueria
Stroll La Rambla from Plaça Catalunya (bags zipped, phones in front pockets — it's the most pickpocket-watched stretch in the city). Lunch at El Quim de la Boqueria — go before 1 PM to beat the crowds.
Afternoon
Gothic Quarter & El Born
Wander into the old town, coffee on a hidden plaça. Airbnb check-in from 3:00 PM — Carrer de la Marina 240, self check-in smart lock.
Early evening
Welcome tapas
Cervecería Catalana or El Xampanyet — both walk-in only, no reservations. Catalana runs two waitlists (10–45 min typical); Xampanyet is first-come at the bar, arrive right at opening (12 PM/7 PM) for a table.
7:30 PM ✓ Booked
🥂 Sunset drinks — La Terraza del Central (SkyBar)
Grand Hotel Central, Via Laietana 30, table for 2 under Thomas. Sunset is 8:00 PM, golden hour lasts to ~8:28 PM. Table held 1 hour — 15-min grace period, be on time.
🚶Leave by ~7:15 PM (9-min taxi) or ~6:55 PM if walking (34 min, flat)
🎒

Remember & pack today

  • Comfortable walking shoes — this is a big walking day
  • Sun hat/sunscreen for the midday Rambla walk
  • Cash/card for the Boqueria lunch + walk-in tapas
  • A nicer layer for SkyBar — rooftop bar, sunset photos
  • Complete Airbnb online check-in before you fly if not already done (guest details, tourist tax, rental agreement)
  • Passports — Spain requires a check-in registration form
  • Phone charged — the SkyBar sunset is the shot of the day
☀️ Weather note: Barcelona in mid-September runs warm through the afternoon; the Rambla walk is fully exposed, so sunscreen matters even on an overcast-looking day.
